On February 23, 2024, People for the Playa and Cochise Groundwater Stewards invited Arizona Attorney General, Kris Mayes, to conduct a Town Hall meeting at the Sunsites Community Center to hear from local residents about their concerns with the future of our groundwater and how the proposed lithium mine in the Willcox Playa may impact the groundwater.

On April 2, 2024, Cochise Groundwater Stewards along with People for the Playa sponsored a presentation by Kristine Uhlman, semi-retired hydro-geologist, regarding lithium mining and water resources here in the Willcox Water Basin.
